30 Aug GraceLaced – A Review by Momma’s Desk
Earlier this summer I was given the opportunity to be part of a book launch team for the new book, GraceLaced, by Ruth Chou Simons. When it came in the mail, I was overjoyed at the need it met in my life for discipleship and daily devotion. GraceLaced would be the guide I needed for a small group of young women. Here is our story:
We were made to be tethered to God’s truth and not our own. - Ruth Chou Simons
The traditional school year was over and the precious young women in my small circle were ever in my thoughts. Our girls are grown and married and several of my close friends have young daughters who are in those critical years of becoming courageous women of God. How could I come alongside them and be another voice for good? As I began to pray for these families, God pricked my heart to lead a small group on the topic of creative worship. Several days later, I received a pre-release copy of the book, GraceLaced, in the mail. As I opened the book, I smiled when I saw the first page entitled, “Gather a few things to get the most out of this book.”
The list included:
Bible, art supplies, journal, a few moments, some quiet, and a willingness to be filled.
This would be the guide for the girls. With a foundation of God’s Word, we would look at creativity in worship. God affirmed His idea in my heart.

Who we are and who God is never changes, even though everything else rarely stays the same. Let this book point you to truth as you journey through the changing seasons of your heart.
On a hot summer day in August, eleven precious, young women, gathered around a 12-ft long table, responding in faith to learn about creativity in worship. 1 Peter 5:7 reminded each of us to cast all of our anxiety on Him because He loves us. We began to create to honor our Creator.
