08 Jul Denise’s Story
Welcome. My name is Denise and I’m excited to share this “desk” with you.
Our story in home education began in 1994. Our oldest daughter was approaching kindergarten age and we were excited to watch her learn and grow. There was one HUGE road block: her birthday was AFTER the cut-off for the local public school system. She would have to wait another year to begin. This set into motion a journey that is currently still in place.
When we discovered that our daughter would miss the age requirement by 7 days, we decided to research homeschool. From the local homeschool conference to books and catalogs, we read and researched anything we could find.
Finally, I attended the local Abeka meeting and bought all of the books to begin kindergarten at home.
This was the beginning.
Now, 22 years later, we have our fourth and last student in high school, 3 high school graduates, 2 college graduates, and a story filled with God’s Providence. He uses “cracked pots” to fulfill His purpose. We hope to share some of our journey with you.
It is our hope to encourage your journey.
